In 2020, arrangements were made for the popular Super Stock division to compete as a support event at three rounds of the
APC United Late Model Series. Contests were conducted at Sauble Speedway and Sunset Speedway, with the finale at Jukasa Motor Speedway.
In 2021, the class received backing from Qwick Wick Fire Starters for the inaugural five-race championship.
Last year, Dayco Belts and Hoses replaced Qwick Wick as the series primary sponsor.
There are five Dayco Super Stock Series events this season. The division serves as a stepping stone for those drivers who aspire to compete in the Pro Late Model category. There are five Dayco Super Stock Series events this season.
The Super Stock category includes a variety of makes and models, which may retain the original steel bodies with plastic noses and fiberglass hoods; however, most competitors use fiberglass body panels. All frame components must be stock unless otherwise stated, with no lightening. A full roll cage constructed out of 1 3/4 x .095 min. round steel tubing must be welded to the chassis. The roll cage must be symmetrical in all directions. Similarly, all suspension and frame components must be stock unless otherwise stated. No modification of stock suspension locating points unless otherwise stated. Mounts for upper control arms can be changed to any location or height. The cars may be equipped with dual racing master cylinders or a stock single master cylinder. A brake proportioning valve is allowed. OEM-type single-piston calipers or Howe single-piston steel calipers are also permitted. Super Stocks are powered by a Built small-block engine or Crate motor from General Motors and Ford. Depending on the engine choice, a car may weigh as little as 3,000 lbs or as much as 3,200 lbs. All engines are fitted with a Holley 500 CFM Two Barrel R4412 carburetor. The cars must use unaltered manual OEM transmission - 3 or 4 speed steel gearboxes. All gears must be operational, including reverse. Drivers compete on American Racer AR 870 tires mounted on 15”X8” steel wheels. Tire rules have been implemented to reduce expenses. Teams are limited to 6 tires for their first race. In 2024, series officials introduced a new restart procedure, called the 'choose rule,' for the APC United Late Model and Dayco Super Stock divisions. On restarts, competitors may choose their lane. Their selection may be determined by the condition of the track, how many cars are ahead of them, or the handling of their vehicle. If a driver changes their choice after the designated 'choose spot,' they must start from the rear of the field. To increase 2026 Super Stock car counts, Dayco and local track championships are being combined. On July 11, the Dayco series joined Flamboro Speedway's Steel City Rumble Series to compete in a single event. Most of the teams are registered in both series. Round three of the Dayco Super Stock Series and Steel City Rumble Series were held at Flamboro Speedway. Drivers competed in a fifty-lap contest around the 0.333-mile semi-banked asphalt oval. |

Lane Zardo was one of the many drivers registered for both the Dayco and Steel City Rumble series. Zardo was the fastest qualifier in the No. 36Z Bester Forest Products Ford Mustang but lined up fifth after the inversion. He moved into second place early and chased down the leader, Chad Corcoran. On lap 29, he passed Corcoran. Despite numerous caution periods and restarts, Zardo held off the challenges for the victory. |

Nic Ramsay was awarded the victory in the opening round of the Dayco Super Stock Series when local Delaware racer Darrell Lake was disqualified. In the next race at Peterborough Speedway, he finished fourth driving the No. 07 Radar Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro. At Flamboro Speedway, Ramsay was gridded fourth. On one of the race's many restarts, he jumped into second place. Unable to pass Lane Zardo, he finished in the runner-up spot. |

Another driver chasing titles in the Dayco and Steel City Rumble series is Shawn Chenoweth. Chenoweth captured a victory in the Dayco series at Peterborough and has two wins in the Flamboro championship. He lined up third in the No. 89C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet Camaro. By the halfway point of the contest, Chenoweth was chasing Chad Corcoran. On the final restart, he moved to third place and held to the finish. |

Cole Burrows had his best result of the season at Flamboro Speedway. Burrows qualified and started ninth in the No. 63 Chase Contracting Chevrolet Camaro. During the race, he dropped as low as tenth. On the final restart, Burrows selected the high-risk, high-reward position on the outside of the front row. He held the spot until he was passed on the inside by Nic Ramsay and Shawn Chenoweth. He finished fourth. |

Chad Corcoran has participated in rounds of both series. He was sixth fastest in the qualifying session at Flamboro Speedway and as luck would have it, Corcoran started on the pole after the redraw. He led the first twenty-nine laps before being passed by Lane Zardo. Late in the race, Corcoran was black-flagged for a loose fender. He pitted and returned to the contest in last place. Corcoran advanced to finish in the sixth position. |

To revitalize the Super Stock class at Flamboro Speedway, local racer Justin Collison formed the Steel City Rumble Series last season. He started sixth in round three, after qualifying third fastest, driving the No. 13C London Recreational Racing Chevrolet Camaro. With five laps remaining, there was contact between Collison and Mason Collver. Collison landed on the back straight wall. He pitted for repairs and returned to finish tenth. |

Race winner Lane Zardo celebrates his victory with family members, his crew, and representatives from the series sponsor Dayco. Zardo, who was last year’s Dayco and Steel City Rumble champion, collected his first victory of 2026 in both championships at Flamboro Speedway. His first-place result moved him to the top of the Dayco standings. It was an emotional win as his father had recently passed away. |
