The 2026 Port City Racecars Late Model championship kicks off at Delaware Speedway on May 15 and concludes on September 18.
The series rules remain basically unchanged from last season. Cars are built to specifications and controls typical of most stock car series. The chassis uses a tube frame with an ABC/Gen 6 body, available as a Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet SS, Ford Mustang, Toyota Camry, or Dodge Charger Daytona. Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh up to 2,780 lbs. Competitors are required to use crate motors from:

Competitors use American Racer spec tires on 15"x10" steel rims. Stopping the cars are steel brakes.
Bilstein A2 shock absorbers are used to regulate expenses. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, etc. Round eight of the 2026 Port City Racecars Late Model Series was held at Delaware Speedway. Drivers competed in a fifty-lap contest around the track's half-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

The pace lap at Delaware Speedway featured sixteen Port City Racecars Late Model competitors for the fifty-lap contest. On the pole is the No. 32 VIP Auto Pro Chevrolet SS of Matt Roblee. Next to Roblee is Ray Morneau driving the No. 03 J-AAR / Reid Farms Ford Fusion. The second row is occupied by the No. 50 Corcoran Contracting Ford Fusion driven by Chad Corcoran. Carson Nagy joined the Port City Racecars Late Model division as a rookie. His racing resume includes two Dayco Series Super Stock championships. This season, Nagy drives the No. 93 Kennedy's Corner Store Chevrolet Camaro for Jesse Kennedy. He started the event with a fourth-place result in the first heat, lined up eighth for the feature, and finished second. However, he was awarded the victory after Connor Pritiko’s Camaro failed the post-race inspection. |

In 2026, Jesse Kennedy is splitting his time between the Great Lakes Legend and the Port City Racecars Late Model Series. He is currently second in the Legends and leads Delaware’s Late Model championship. Kennedy pilots the No. 10 D.A.D.S. Ford Mustang. He was entered in the second heat race, finished as the runner-up, then started the final event in fifth place and crossed the finish line in third. Connor Pritiko’s disqualification moved him to second. |

Brady Smith drives the No. 39 Oliver Ford / PV EX Construction Ford Mustang. He is currently third in the Port City Racecars Late Model points chase. At round eight of the championship, Smith competed in the second heat race and finished in the runner-up spot. He started the fifty-lap feature in sixth, made three passes, and finished fourth. However, he inherited third place when Connor Pritiko was excluded. |

Earlier in the season, Ray Morneau had hard contact with the walls at Flamboro and Peterborough Speedway. After a visit to the Doctor, he was diagnosed with a concussion. After several weeks off, Morneau returned to the driver’s seat and finished third in Steve McCaw’s Modified. Confident that he was better, he entered Friday evening’s Late Model event in the No. 03 J-AAR Ford Fusion. He won the second heat, led the feature, and finished fifth. |

Marshall Schrenk is busy competing in Delaware Speedway’s Port City Racecars Late Model and Epic Racewear Modified Series. Schrenk is fourth in the Late Model standings with a victory. He leads the points chase in the Modified division with three wins in seven starts. The driver of the No. 22 All-City Paintless Dent Repair Chevrolet Camaro finished third in the second heat race and started sixth for the finale, where he finished fifth. |
