The popular Mini Stock category offers new drivers an opportunity to compete in an entry-level stock car class. Rules are written to keep costs to a minimum.

The Mini Stock division is open to any 2010-and-older approved 4-cylinder automobile with an engine no larger than 2500 cc. The cars may be front or rear-wheel drive. Rules prohibit convertibles, 4-wheel drives, trucks, BMWs, Audis, Saabs with turbo, V-Tec, supercharged, or rotary engines. Also excluded are mid or rear-engine vehicles. The weight of the cars is determined by the engine displacement and cylinder head design.

The body must retain its stock appearance - no chopping, channeling or sectioning is allowed.

Safety is a major concern in this division. Mini Stocks are fitted with a roll cage, fuel cell, five-point quick-release belts (shoulder and lap), aluminum racing seat and a window net.

Some of the makes and models typically raced by competitors include the Ford Mustang, Nissan 240SX, Acura Integra, Honda Civic and Pontiac Sunfire.

A fifty-lap Min Stock Invitational was added to the APC United Late Model’s second 2022 visit to Flamboro Speedway, where drivers raced on the 0.333-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

The contest ran caution-free.

Eleven Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock competitors lined up on Flamboro Speedway’s front straight for the fifty-lap contest. Kyle Neumeister paced the field in the No. 94 Tallman Promo Racing Chevrolet Cobalt, with Flamboro regular Shawn Taylor beside him in the No. 76 Kangaroo Trailers / GM Electric Nissan 240SX. Cole Quinton and Mike Thomson started in row two in their Ford Mustangs.
Shawn Taylor is a popular fixture at Flamboro Speedway and has collected many Mini Stock feature wins. Starting on the outside of the front row, he ran side by side with pole-sitter Kyle Neumeister at the drop of the green flag. Taylor and Neumeister traded first place until lap 27, when Taylor took the top spot and held it to the checkered flag under pressure from Cole Quinton.
Cole Quinton is another Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock regular at Flamboro Speedway. Driving the No. 18 Ford Mustang with backing from Spira Fire Protection, he lined up third for the feature race. At the start, Quinton slotted in behind leaders Kyle Neumeister and Shawn Taylor. On lap 22, he passed Neumeister for second, then chased Taylor but finished there.
Three of the top four starters in the Mini Stock Invitational could be found at Flamboro Speedway on Saturday evenings. Gridded fourth, Mike Thomson drove the No. 16 Bucks by Tatra Ford Mustang. He chased the leaders while holding fourth early, then passed Kyle Neumeister for third on lap 23. Thomson trailed Shawn Taylor and Cole Quinton the rest of the way and finished third.
Kyle Neumeister was the odd man out among the first four starting positions. On the pole for the fifty-lap feature, he drove the No. 94 Tallman Promo Racing Chevrolet Cobalt. He and outside front-row starter Shawn Taylor raced side by side and exchanged first place early. With thirty-three laps to go, Taylor took the lead, and Neumeister then lost positions before finishing fourth.
The top three finishers are registered in Flamboro Speedway’s Klotz Auto Repair Mini Stock series. Centered is the winner, Shawn Taylor, who pulled away from the field to win by 0.991 seconds. On the left is runner-up Cole Quinton, who tried to catch Taylor but never got close enough to make a pass. The final position in the top three belongs to Mike Thomson.
