The series rules remain basically unchanged from last season. Cars are built to specifications and controls typical of most stock car series. The chassis uses a tube frame with an ABC/Gen 6 body, available as a Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet SS, Ford Mustang, Toyota Camry, or Dodge Charger Daytona.

Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh up to 2,780 lbs. Competitors are required to use crate motors from:

  • General Motors GM 604 (Red & Blue Sealed)
  • General Motors GM 602
  • Ford 347

All engines must be fitted with five seals to prevent illegal alterations to the motor:

  • Intake Manifold
  • Oil Pan
  • Timing Chain Cover
  • Left Cylinder Head
  • Right Cylinder Head

Competitors use American Racer spec tires on 15"x10" steel rims.

Stopping the cars are steel brakes.

  • Front brake rotors must be a minimum of 1.250-inch thick.
  • Rear brake rotors must be a minimum of 0.750-inch thick.

Bilstein A2 shock absorbers are used to regulate expenses. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, etc.

The penultimate round of the 2026 Port City Racecars Late Model Series was held on September 11 at Delaware Speedway. Drivers competed in a thirty-five-lap contest around the track's half-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

The pace lap for round nine of the 2026 Port City Racecars Late Model Series. Twenty competitors line up on Delaware Speedway’s back straight. On the pole is Tyler Di Venanzo driving the No. 97D Hudco Electric Supply Chevrolet Camaro. Sharing the front row with Di Venanzo is Matt Roblee in the No. 32 VIP Auto Pro Chevrolet SS. Immediately behind the leaders are the No. 03 Ford Fusion driven by Ray Morneau and Donald Theetge in the No. 80 Chevrolet Camaro.
Race nine of the Port City Racecars Late Model Series provided Connor Pritiko and his team with an opportunity to redeem themselves. At the previous round, Pritiko was the first across the finish line after fifty laps of racing. Unfortunately, the No. 19 Domus Developments Chevrolet Camaro was 15 lbs. too light and failed post-race tech. With the issue corrected, he started the feature in fifth place. A melee on the second lap allowed Pritiko to take the lead and victory.
NASCAR Canada competitor Donald Theetge won rounds ten and eleven of the series last year at Delaware Speedway. This season, he brought his Late Model in preparation for the NASCAR Canada race and the APC Series Castrol 300 during the Great Canadian Race Weekend. With a new motor in the No. 80 VULCAiN Chevrolet Camaro, Theetge won the second heat race and started the feature in the fourth spot. At the finish, he was second by a margin of 0.644 seconds.
One of the many APC United Late Model regulars entered in round nine of the Port City Racecars Late Model Series was Brandon Watson. Watson is the first driver to collect two APC championships and is currently second in the points chase. The driver of the No. 30 Ellis Don / Gallager Ford Mustang was entered in the second heat and finished fifth. Watson lined up tenth for the feature. He charged through the field and crossed the finish line in third place.
A concussion mid-season removed Ray Morneau from the driver’s seat. He returned a couple of weeks ago and had a successful session in a Modified. Morneau’s first Late Model event was round eight of the Port City Racecars Late Model Series. Showing that he hasn’t lost any speed, he won the heat race and finished fifth in the feature. Driving the No. 03 J-AAR / Reid Farms Ford Fusion, Morneau finished third in the first heat and fourth in the feature.
Jesse Kennedy is a regular in the 2026 Port City Racecars Late Model Series at Delaware Speedway. He also competes in the Great Lakes Legends. Kennedy drives the No. 10 Wampum Fuels / D.A.D.S. Ford Mustang and leads the points chase. His rivals for this year’s title are his teammate Carson Nagy and Marshal Schrenk. Kennedy was fifth in the feature after collecting a sixth-place finish in the heat. More importantly, he finished ahead of Nagy and Schrenk.
Tyler Di Venanzo’s focus this season has been the Flamboro Grisdale Showdown Series. But he has also made appearances in the APC United Late Model and Port City Racecars Late Model Series. Di Venanzo’s last appearance at Delaware Speedway ended before the heat races. With repairs made to the No. 97D Hudco Electric Supply Chevrolet Camaro, he returned to dominate the first heat. In the feature, Di Venanzo started second and finished sixth.
Another two-time APC United Late Model champion in the mix was JR Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick has missed some of the race season due to an accident, but since his return, he has been driving everything but a Late Model. Last year, he drove the No. 3 EHR-prepared Chevrolet Camaro and finished third in the Castrol 300. Fitzpatrick is entered once again, and in preparation for the event, he drove the same Camaro. Fitzpatrick started last in the feature and finished eighth.
Connor Pritiko and his team are ‘hitting their stride’ just the right time for the APC Series Castrol 300. Pritiko suffered a setback in the opening round of the APC United Late Model Series. However, the team has found more speed at each event. Pritiko finished first in the previous round of the Port City Racecars Late Model Series, but the No. 19 Domus Developments Chevrolet Camaro was too light. With the problem addressed, he earned the victory.
