The series rules remain basically unchanged from last season. Cars are built to specifications and controls typical of most stock car series. The chassis uses a tube frame with an ABC/Gen 6 body, available as a Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet SS, Ford Mustang, Toyota Camry, or Dodge Charger Daytona.

Depending on the engine choice, a car can weigh up to 2,780 lbs. Competitors are required to use crate motors from:

  • General Motors GM 604 (Red & Blue Sealed)
  • General Motors GM 602
  • Ford 347

All engines must be fitted with five seals to prevent illegal alterations to the motor:

  • Intake Manifold
  • Oil Pan
  • Timing Chain Cover
  • Left Cylinder Head
  • Right Cylinder Head

Competitors use American Racer spec tires on 15"x10" steel rims.

Stopping the cars are steel brakes.

  • Front brake rotors must be a minimum of 1.250-inch thick.
  • Rear brake rotors must be a minimum of 0.750-inch thick.

Bilstein A2 shock absorbers are used to regulate expenses. There are also rules restricting the options for transmissions, ignition components, etc.

Round five of the 2026 Port City Racecars Late Model Series was held at Delaware Speedway on July 3. Drivers were scheduled to compete in a thirty-five-lap contest around the track's half-mile semi-banked asphalt oval.

However, officials flagged the race on lap 9 due to rain. The final twenty-six laps were rescheduled and concluded on September 11.

The pace lap for the Port City Racecars Late Model Series on July 3. Twelve Late Model competitors’ line-up on Delaware Speedway’s back straight for the thirty-five-lap contest. On the pole is the No. 50 Corcoran Contracting Ford Fusion of Chad Corcoran. Beside Corcoran is Logan White driving the No. 21 Ken Small Real Estate Team Chevrolet SS. In row two is Steve Arrand in the No. 37 Chevrolet SS and Matt Roblee driving the No. 32 Chevrolet SS.
When the Port City Racecars Late Model Series returned on September 11 to complete round five, the starting line-up followed the race order from lap 9. On the pole is the No. 03 LIUNA! / J-AAR Ford Fusion driven by Ray Morneau. Beside Morneau is Brady Smith in the No. 39 Oliver Ford / PV EX Construction Ford Mustang. Immediately behind the leaders are the No. 50 Ford Fusion of Chad Corcoran and Jesse Kennedy driving the No. 10 Ford Mustang.
After sitting out several weeks of racing due to a concussion, Ray Morneau returned to the driver’s seat. In his first event back in the No. 30 LIUNA! / J-AAR Ford Fusion, he won a heat race and finished fourth in the feature. At the July 3rd event, Connor Pritiko scored points for Morneau. When the contest resumed in September, Morneau was back behind the wheel. He led the field to the start and, despite a challenge from Brady Smith, went flag-to-flag for the victory.
Finishing 0.680 seconds behind Ray Morneau in the runner-up spot was Carson Nagy. The successful Super Stock driver joined Delaware Speedway’s Port City Racecars Late Model Series this season. Nagy is second in the points standings, chasing his team owner, Jesse Kennedy. He started the completion laps for round five in fifth position driving the No. 93 Kennedy's Corner Store Chevrolet Camaro. On lap 32, Nagy passed Brady Smith for his second-place result.
Brady Smith drives the No. 39 Oliver Ford Mustang and is in a tight battle with Marshall Schrenk for third in the championship standings. Both have a feature win, but Schrenk has more heat victories. Smith was on the outside of the front row when the division returned to complete the final twenty-six laps. At the end of the first lap, Smith slotted into second behind Ray Morneau. With three laps remaining, he was passed by Carson Nagy and finished third.
Ray Morneau and his crew celebrate the round five victory. Earlier in the season, Morneau had hard contact with the walls at Flamboro and Peterborough Speedways. After a visit to the Doctor, he was diagnosed with a concussion. Morneau returned to the driver’s seat several weeks later and finished third in a Modified feature. In his previous Late Model outing, he finished fifth after winning a heat race.
